I summited Kilimanjaro in Oct 2023. The experience was breathtaking but I tried not to overdo the photography because it was difficult while hiking in extreme conditions. Also such experiences are best enjoyed without distractions and by keeping it internalized and reflective. Still here are some pictures to share.
The first picture is of a weird tree that you find at high altitude.
The peaks of Kili follow, Shira, Kibo and Mawenzi. Mawenzi is only seen as you approach the highest point of Kibo but it is not a peak that many have climbed. Only a handful of people have challenged Mawenzi successfully.
